  • Our programs cater to young ladies and women aged 8-18 years. Eligible participants include students from elementary to high school levels.

  • Due to our partnerships with generous donors and community grants, there are no membership costs associated with being a part of AngelStreet!

However, there may be costs associated with certain activities, i.e College Tours and Summer Enrichment Trip

  • While transportation is provided during the week for regular sessions, it is limited to a close range of schools significant to our location.

For pick-up from Bickford Community Center (North Memphis) , students must have individual transportation. However, transportation to and from performances will be provided for participating students. Parents will always be notified of drop-off and pick-up locations.

  • No, you do not need prior experience to participate. The majority of our participants are first-timers with little to no experience in music training. All are welcome to join and explore their musical talents with us!

  • Thanks to the generous donations from our supporters, AngelStreet currently has a handful of instruments available, including various pianos, guitars, and other handheld instruments.

While having instruments is not required, as we primarily focus on choir activities, students who possess instruments are still highly encouraged to showcase their musical abilities and practice with us. Please note that we do not typically provide instruments but keep them available for specific training purposes, as they are integral to our music training program.

If you have your own instrument, we welcome you to bring it along. However, if you don't have one, don't worry! Simply let us know if you're interested, and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

  • Auditions are held at the beginning of every year, to recruit new members. Please note that official audition dates and locations may vary. For more information, you can always contact us directly or visit our headquarters. We'll be happy to provide you with the details you need.

  • Ensuring the safety of our participants is our top priority. We collaborate closely with the organization sharing our community center building, which houses many trusted staff members. Our safety measures include:

    1. Comprehensive Background Checks: All staff and volunteers undergo thorough background checks to ensure the safety and security of our participants.

    2. Supervision: Our programs are always supervised by trained staff members who prioritize the well-being of the participants.

    3. Secure Environment: We maintain a secure environment within our facility, including secure entry points and regular safety assessments.

    4. Emergency Procedures: We have established emergency procedures and protocols in place to address any unforeseen situations promptly and effectively.

  • Absolutely! Discover more about our dedicated mentors and staff by visiting our Team page located in the navigation bar.

  • While our organization is founded on faith, our programming centers on musical training, mentoring, and leadership development. Our mentoring approach is faith-based, and we often perform at worship services and Christian events.

However, it's important to note that while faith is central to our mission, we warmly welcome all young ladies to audition and participate in our program, regardless of their religious affiliation.

  • We aspire to support the educational pursuits of our participants beyond high school. While our nonprofit currently does not offer scholarships directly to graduates, we provide valuable assistance in the research and application process for external scholarships.

Additionally, we highly encourage our program graduates to return as mentors or interns for younger participants and to advocate for our organization. This not only fosters a sense of community but also empowers our graduates to pay it forward and become leaders in their own right.
